Course Structure

Roadrunner course structure follows the regulator DVSA's ADI qualification path in order to ensure that every element of the 3 parts course is taught from start-to-finish in a professional focused manner, which in turn will guarantee the learner to become fully ADI qualified.

DVSA Part 1 - Theory

This first Part 1 of the DVSA is a theory stage where you will need to prepare for ‘Multiple Choice Questions’ and a ‘Hazard Perception’ test. You will need to utilise your Roadrunner home study pack and participate in 1-to-1 tuition, where you will have 3 hours with your local trainer who will help plan your approach to the training and help set your targets to achieve and pass this stage.

DVSA Part 2 - Driving Ability

Part 2 of the DVSA tests your ‘Driving Ability’. Here you will discover and learn how to apply the knowledge learnt in the first stage in to your own driving. Roadrunner will practically teach you to develop improved awareness, advanced car control and provide greater application of how to move within traffic with a much higher level of skill and total road awareness. Roadrunner will give you 16 hours of quality 1-to-1 in-car private training and practice helping you to pass this stage with ease.

DVSA Part 3 - Teaching Ability

This Part 3 is focused on you being the instructor and testing your ‘Teaching Ability’.

Roadrunner will help you develop the full range of skill sets you need to demonstrate that you are an effective driving instructor through 40 hours of focused 1-to-1 in-car training. Here we will teach you how to utilise your car as a moving classroom and get the best out of your pupils. Upon passing this stage your new career as a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) starts.
